Dr. Elysa Marco is a neurologist who specializes in cognitive and behavioral child neurology. She cares for children with types of neurologic concerns, however, she specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Marco participates in the care of children at the UCSF Medical Center Pediatric Neurology Clinic and the UCSF/Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute Autism and Neurodevelopment Center Clinic. Dr. Marco is the director of research for the UCSF Autism and Neurodevelopment Center. Her research centers on a thorough phenotypic evaluation combined with innovative functional imaging to better understand sensory and cognition. Her current research involves individuals with autism, sensory processing disorders, and agenesis of the corpus callosum. The over arching goal of Dr. Marco's research is to use basic science findings to create beneficial treatments for children.

Dr. Marco received her BA in psychology at the University of Pennsylvania and then obtained her MD at the University of California, San Francisco. She continued her residency training at UCSF in pediatrics, neurology, and child neurology. In addition, she completed a cognitive and behavioral fellowship with an emphasis on the genetics of cognitive impairment. Dr. Marco now works for Cortica as the Head of Physician Operations.
